Hi, I hope you are well and enjoying the summer. I’ve recorded a free taster session for those of you who are interested in finding out a little bit more about Hypnobirthing.
Hypnobirthing is becoming more commonplace now but there are still many people who don’t fully know what”s involved. Maybe you’re a bit curious or have already dismissed it because it sounds weird & strange or maybe think it’s some woo-woo thing for hippies.
I’m a bit partial to woo & hippies but I tell you Hypnobirthing is none of these things. It’s based on medical facts & scientific research. If anyone starts a course who is slightly sceptical, after the first session they get what it’s about and are then 100% in.
Pain in childbirth comes from fear
When you understand that the pain in childbirth comes from fear and know that birth is a normal natural event, not a medicalised procedure then the beliefs & negative associations you may have learned over the years about birth can start to change.
Learning new, simple techniques to distract your mind away from the sensations in your body, along with your belief that your body knows what to do the same as the billions of women who have given birth before you, allows you to have a much more relaxed birth where can you can make any choices about the birth you want and be in control of any decisions about suggestions that health care providers may give to you along the way. This includes choosing drugs to help you if you wish or even deciding on an elective c-section and the many choices available to you that many don’t know about.
I love guiding couples through the programme & seeing the visible shift in their confidence about birth and being able to support them after if their situation starts to change. It is such a great in-depth antenatal course that I really wish everyone could do.
NHS Trusts Investing
Hypnobirthing is so much more common than when I discovered it 9 years ago. It’s still growing in popularity with many midwives learning the techniques and also NHS trusts investing in training their midwives in it because of the many benefits including less birth trauma, better outcomes with less intervention for birthing parents & babies. Babies also have been found to sleep & feed better along with many more reasons to choose this way to give birth.
My September Face to Face group course starts on Tuesday the 13th and is for 4 consecutive weeks. (20th, 27th and 4th October)
October group course will be on the 18th, 25th, 1st & 8th)
Online group course dates are to be confirmed at a later date for October. Anyone who signs up for September & October group sessions who has watched the taster will get a free 1:1 session (60 mins) with me before birth that will be tailored for whatever you need at the time.
Groups are very small with a maximum of 4 couples. They are held in my studio in Horsham West Sussex.
You hold the power to make the best choice for you & your precious baby. You have one birth with this special being, make it the best it can possibly be.
This is for everyone & if I can do it you certainly can.
Enjoy, and I look forward to answering any questions you might have.
